Fadi J. Sawaya is an Assistant Professor of Internal Medicine, Division of Cardiology at the American university of Beirut Medical center (AUBMC). Dr. Sawaya received his Medical Degree with Distinction from the American University of Beirut in 2008 and was the recipient of the Alpha Omega Alpha awards. After which, Dr. Sawaya completed 6 years of residency and fellowship training in Internal Medicine and General Cardiology at Emory University hospital in Atlanta (2008-2014). He then served as the Chief Interventional
Cardiology Fellow for one year at the Andreas Grüentzig Cardiovascular Center at Emory University (2014-2015). After his time in the United States, Dr. Sawaya moved to Europe to the Institut Cardiovasculaire Paris Sud, France and Rigshospitalet, University of Copenhagen, Denmark, two of the most experienced and highest volume centers in Europe, where he did a clinical Fellowship in Complex Coronary Interventions, Endovascular, Structural and Adult Congenital Heart Interventions for 1.5 years.
He is currently the Director of the Structural Heart program at AUBMC and his clinical interest is performing TAVI, mitral Clip, LAA occlusion, Paravalvular leak closure and ASD/PFO closures and CTO interventions.
